WAAL PARTNER OF MADASTER

Netherlands, Vlaardingen – 14 november 2018– Robert de Pagter, Innovation Developer at Waal, and Jeroen Broersma, Business Developer at Madaster, signed a partner agreement, today. As integral construction developer, Waal is contributing to Madaster’s development. Madaster is an independent public platform that generates material passports with the aim of eliminating waste, worldwide. The platform can be used by private individuals, companies and government authorities, and is developed by Madaster Services, under the supervision of the Madaster Foundation.

Madaster functions as an online library that documents materials and buildings, similar to the registration of property ownership and land division at a land registry. All users of Madaster can generate a material passport for their buildings. A material passport contains information about the quality and origins of materials and their current location. This makes them easier to recover and reuse, in cases of renovation and restoration, stimulates smart design and eliminates waste.

“We are proud to be adding Waal to our network of partners. As the linchpin in the complex construction process of development, engineering and realisation, Waal can help ensure that data becomes available. This will result in an increase in the quality, applicability and acceptance of material passports.”- Jeroen Broersma, Business Developer at Madaster

“Virtual construction is Waal’s solution to sustainable and efficient production. Applying 3D-BIM in our designing and realisation processes has enabled us to provide insight into the data on materials, amounts and dimensions. In Madaster, we can store these data for future use. This allows for better utilisation of our available data in the lifecycle of building and improves our current designing and production techniques. Smart development and construction—that’s what it’s all about.”- Robert de Pagter, Innovation Developer at Waal

Waal plans to apply Madaster to its Green Lab project in The Hague. This project is a turn-key development assignment by Van der Vorm Vastgoed B.V. Madaster’s material passport offers Van der Vorm Vastgoed a future tool for the building’s management and real estate strategy.
