Madaster Norway gains more Pioneers and has held the first Pioneer event

Four more companies have joined the Norwegian Madaster Pioneer Programme; Rambøll, Henning Larsen, Storebrand and Sweco. They all aim for a more sustainable and circular construction sector.

‘We experience real dedication for the transition towards a more circular economy’, says Marie Drange, CEO of Madaster Norway. She tells how the first Pioneers have started to use the digital platform, both for circular design amongst participating architects and to register building materials in existing buildings and buildings for renovation.

The Norwegian Pioneers — Statsbygg, Entra, COWI, Ratio Architects, Rambøll, Henning Larsen, Storebrand and Sweco — met at the first Pioneer meeting on 27 January. They were joined by Rehub and Resirqel, the two solution partners. Line Tharaldsen and Chiara Grifasi from Ratio Arcitechts held a presentation about how they use Madaster, measure the carbon footprint of various building materials, in order to design low-carbon housing and prepare them for reuse. They look forward to an mandatory material passport. Leif Nordhus, CEO at Circular Norway, presented circular obligations in the EU Taxonomy, and Frank Jaegtnes, CEO at EFO and Head of the Digital Coordination Council, talked about a pilot project titled ‘Data flow for circularity’. The CTO at Madaster Norway presented the roadmap, together with Pablo van Den Bosch, who participated online. Marie Drange led the seminar. ‘We are looking forward to two more Pioneer events in 2022 and are also hoping to visit Madaster in the Netherlands’, says Drange.
