Expo 2025 pavilions in Osaka, Japan, registered in Madaster

News 9 jul 2023
Those interested in progress and innovation can start looking forward to Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Planning teams from around the world are already working hard on their contributions to this world exhibition with this year’s theme ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’.
Sustainability aspects, in particular that of the circular economy, play a leading role, also in the pavilions of the Netherlands and Germany. The Netherlands will stand out with a fully circular pavilion, which is designed as a man-made sun and is titled Common Ground: creating a new dawn. The Dutch pavilion is the brainchild of RAU, engineering firm DGMR, experience design studio Tellart and Japanese construction company ASANUMA CORPORATION. It will showcase new hydropower technologies to generate zero-emission energy and make energy accessible to all. The winning German design, titled ‘Wa! Germany’, is by Berlin-based architecture firm LAVA (Laboratory for Visionary Architecture), together with facts and fiction GmbH (content concept and media design) and GL events (structural execution). The name is no coincidence, as ‘Wa’ in Japanese means both circle, wow and harmony. We are delighted to assist the two planning teams on their journey. And because two is not enough, we may soon announce some additional Expo partnerships. Photo Pavilion Netherlands: ©AND bv copyright Plomp Photo Pavilion Germany: MIR/LAVA/facts and fiction
