EPEA AND MADASTER IMPLEMENT MATERIAL PASSPORTS FOR THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT IN TAIWAN

EPEA Taiwan and Madaster are working together on introducing a registration system for materials in Taiwan to stimulate the circular economy of Taiwan’s construction sector.

As a scientific research organisation with expertise in economics, biology, chemistry, construction, environmental sciences and other fields, EPEA Taiwan makes an important contribution to the realisation of circular economy products in Taiwan. Material passports can play a major role, in this respect, and accelerate Taiwan’s circular construction economy.

By registering and documenting real estate objects in Madaster, the online material registration system, material passports provide insight into the materials and products used in the construction of those buildings. As a result, real estate managers always have an up-to-date online construction dossier at their disposal, which provides information on the circularity performance of the buildings they manage and they also have an up-to-date financial valuation of said real estate, at any given time.

EPEA’s network enables Madaster to apply its knowledge in the field of material passports in a targeted manner within the Taiwanese construction sector. This facilitates the adoption of material passports in Taiwan and will accelerate the circular economy.
