Driving circular innovation in construction
BAM’s decision to partner with Madaster supports its commitment to ‘build a sustainable tomorrow’.
Through this collaboration, BAM UK & Ireland will introduce materials passports into their UK&I operations, enabling better tracking and management of materials across the asset lifecycle. This supports their broader sustainability goals and aligns with growing demand from clients for more transparent, circular, and future-fit construction practices.
What is a materials passport?
A materials passport is a digital record that captures essential information about the materials used in a building—facilitating reuse, recycling, and smarter asset management. The Madaster platform enables clients and contractors alike to document, analyse, and share this data across their projects, reducing embodied carbon and supporting compliance with emerging circular economy legislation and frameworks.
A proven approach
This move follows successful adoption of Madaster by BAM’s Dutch teams, who have already integrated the platform into several projects. By extending this approach to the UK and Ireland, BAM aims to build on these learnings and accelerate the shift toward more circular practices across its operations.
Andrea Charlson, Managing Director of Madaster UK commented:
“We are thrilled to welcome BAM UK & Ireland as a Pioneer. Their leadership in sustainability and willingness to innovate
will be key to advancing circularity in the construction sector. We’re excited to support their journey and look forward to collaborating closely on
delivering measurable impact.”
This new partnership reflects a shared vision between BAM and Madaster: to enable a built environment that values materials as assets, not waste
